A private family in Battery Park City is looking for a loving, experienced, developmentally focused nanny for their 8-month-old daughter. Someone who is enthusiastic about childcare and will engage in various activities with their daughter, such as reading, singing, and exploring. The family is looking for someone comfortable with baby-led-weaning.
The ideal candidate for this position is proactive and caring. They should be punctual, consistent, and great with infants. Someone who is organized, patient, and a self-starter and knows how to troubleshoot issues on their own. Being detail-oriented is important to the parents. Though Infant CPR and First Aid are essential, the family will cover the cost of the certificates to the right candidate if needed. If you are a Mandarin speaker, we highly encourage you to apply.
Job Detail (Position detail can change as the family works out their needs)
The schedule is Full-time, Mondays – Friday. From 7:45 am to 6:00 pm.
Must be covid vaccinated and already boosted or with plans to be boosted.
Compensation & Benefits
All positions are paid gross with overtime. This position is $35-$40 hour, and PTO [7 Paid federal holidays, 2 weeks of vacation, one week overlapping with family, and 3 sick days] and a discretionary performance bonus.
Start Date: This is a long-term role, and the position starts as soon as the family can find the right candidate.
Position Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Embraces family parenting style
Pitch-in attitude regarding general maintenance and cleanliness of their daughter
Cook and prepare healthy meals and snacks for their daughter
Adhere to their daughter’s schedule, including naps/sleep and activities
Manage all aspects of their daughter’s property with utmost cleanliness and organization – including meals/snacks and clean-up, hanging clothes, cleaning toys/books, etc. Facilitate intellectual development (e.g., reading, spelling, numbers, arts and crafts, enrichment, etc.)
Facilitate physical development (e.g., running, climbing, stacking, using utensils, etc.) in a high-energy, creative, and playful way.
Facilitate social development, helping to make connections with friends and attending playdates
Organize calendar, arrange outings, etc.
Active engagement and clear communication with work-at-home parents
US Work Authorization
Mandarin speaker is a huge plus
At least three years of professional full-time or part-time childcare experience
Comfortable cooking for their daughter
Excellent communication skills
Comfortable getting Covid-19 tested, vaccinated, and willing to get the booster.
