Temp Private Educator (3-month Contract)


Schedule:
M-F 9:30-3:30pm. This is not a remote position.
A loving couple is looking for a temp private educator/tutor for their 6-year-old son. Their son is currently in 1st grade, so the ideal candidate is someone with a teaching background of K-8, with his focus in mind. Their son in a Spanish Immersion school. So support with Spanish would be a plus. The ideal candidate should ensure their son is mastering core concepts and receiving hands-on instruction. The educator will collaborate with the parents to support the current curriculum that balances both their son’s learning style while also meeting state requirements. Both parents work full-time remotely and would be in the home but on different floors — so the academic tutor would have the space to work and engage independently.

Position Details
They are a BIPOC/Same-Sex family
Hours/Schedule: Working hours generally falling on Mondays through Fridays from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. Help with lunch/Snacks
Live-out in person.
Compensation and Benefits: The family is offering $30+/hr depending on experience Start Date: The position will begin as soon as the family finds the perfect fit and is expected to continue for up to 3 months.


Responsibilities
Collaborate with the parents to supplement curriculum that balances both their son’s learning style. Supplement the children’s provided curriculum with hands-on, inspiring learning experiences with an emphasis on project-based learning Ensure educational milestones are being met; hold regular check-ins to discuss long-term and short-term academic goals.
Utilize student-led learning approaches that inspire curiosity, a love for learning, and educational independence, while still providing a structured, productive environment Be a supportive educator and well-rounded role model to encourage the growth of the children as a whole
Qualifications
At least three years of teaching/tutoring experience with this age group Bachelor’s degree or higher in an education-related field Experience with and passion for project-based learning COVID-conscious and willing to take necessary precautions to protect self and family
