Fun-Loving, Career Nanny Needed For Loving Brooklyn Family

A loving family in Greenpoint, BK, is looking for an easy-going, confident, and flexible nanny for their 4-year-old son and newborn, arriving in early December. The ideal candidate for this role is someone with experience working with multiple children and newborns. A nanny with lots of energy who can create an engaging, happy, and stimulating atmosphere for their children. The nanny must be proactive, tech-savvy, a self-starter, and know how to troubleshoot issues independently. Lastly, the nanny must be comfortable around dogs. Their family has a golden retriever.

This is a full-time, live-in, or live-out position:

  • The schedule is from Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM. (50/hrs. a week) Additional hours may be required with notice. So, an ideal candidate who is flexible.

  • Though not required, the parents would like a weekly date night and one on the weekends.

Live-in accommodations:

  • Private Bedroom & Bathroom in family’s home.


  • Family Spends 8 weeks a year in Shelter Island over the summer.

  • live-out nannies would need to come to Shelter Island for 8 weeks in the summer during weekdays.

  • Nanny must be comfortable occasionally traveling with the family.

Compensation & Benefits

  • This position is paid gross with overtime. This position is $30-$35 an hour, with PTO (e.g., including paid federal holidays. There are two weeks of vacation) and a discretionary performance bonus.

Start Date: Begins on 11/15/2022. This is a long-term role.

Position Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Safety first.

  • Pitch-in attitude regarding general maintenance and cleanliness of the children

  • Follows parents’ approach to childcare and embraces family parenting style

  • Manage daily care and supervision of the children

  • Adhere to the children’s schedule (e.g., School drop-off and pick-ups, etc.)

  • Facilitate intellectual development (e.g., words, numbers, stories, puzzles, etc.)

  • Facilitate social development, helping to make connections with friends and attending playdates and classes.

  • Ability to make very simple meals for the children.

  • Laundry for the children.

  • Manage all aspects of the children’s property with utmost cleanliness and organization, including meals/snacks and clean-up, hanging clothes, cleaning toys/books, diaper bags, etc.


  • US, Work Authorization

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional Nanny experience

  • Pre-K experience

  • Newborn experience

  • Driver’s License

  • Travel experience

  • Must know how to swim

  • Up to date on all vaccinations

  • Covid vaccination and boosted

  • CPR and First-Aid certifications
