Overall Responsibilities – Florida
Menu planning for Lunch and Dinner
Send proposed menu to principals every Sunday evening for the up and coming week.
Shop for and/or order groceries
Responsible to keep the house stocked with provisions needed for the weekly menu as well as all staple items. There is a house manual with a section, you can reference.
Do not buy groceries for the full week, as there are often requests as the week moves along. It may be more cost-effective to purchase every two days.
Work with the Estate Manager regarding the budget and keeping track of that. Keep all receipts and submit those to the Estate Manager for processing. Put in a neat expense report format and attach the receipts for backup.
Execute meals in a timely, clean, professional, and efficient manner. Presentation is important.
Hours: 11 am-8 pm, Monday-Friday on standby, if needed on weekends, Keep kitchen and appliances clean and operational at all times. Report any repair work to the Estate Manager.
Communicate with the Principals and/or the EA’s as timing/meals may fluctuate.
Travel with the Family
Travel is required when the family is traveling to one of their homes, or staying in a rental home; hotels do not deem travel.
When traveling to other homes, Chef will need to arrive at least one full day in advance. Allow
sufficient time to review the current supply of household items. If needed shop for new inventory and allow time for fully stock and prep.
The chef may need to be willing to lend a hand to the housekeeper if a need arises while setting up the home prior to the Family’s arrival.
Hours may vary during travel, based on the Principal schedules so flexibility is a must.
Dietary restrictions and specifics
Plant-Based Diet – The family is primarily plant-based however, Mrs. will sometimes request fish or poultry.
Mrs. is also gluten-free. No exceptions.
Mrs. is also dairy-free does not mind cheese – ok to cook with light milk and cream. She is NOT a fan of fake cheeses
Mr. and Child are vegetarian. They both eat cheese, milk, cream, ice cream. No meats
Nannies have no dietary restrictions but would need to just communicate with them regarding any current diets.
Food preference sheets and staple items list will be shared once the chef has been hired.
Compensation: $85-100K. DOE
Background Check, References, and Confidentiality - All candidates are required to provide authorization for a full (criminal/public record, driver, and credit) background check, once being offered the position. The offer will be contingent on satisfactory completion. - References are required and checked, once the candidate has been offered the position. The offer will be contingent upon receipt of satisfactory references. - Once offered the position, the candidate will be required to sign a confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement, covering all aspects of their work for the family, as a condition of employment
