A private Kearny, NJ family seeks a professional & educated nanny for their two children, a 20-month-old daughter and a 1-month-old son. Both parents have high-performing, intense careers, which include working from home occasionally, and are present and hands-on when available. So, the nanny must be comfortable working in close partnership with work-from-home parents.
The ideal candidate is caring, communicative, clean & organized, and a great team player. They must have experience working with both toddlers and newborns, exhibit calm under pressure, and can bring their knowledge of early childhood development. Someone who has the ability to create an engaging, happy, and stimulating atmosphere while challenging the kids positively to be their best will excel in this role.
This position is a Part-Time position:
Monday-Friday, 30 hours a week.
The candidate is expected to be flexible, for most working days won’t exceed 8 hours. Additional hours may be required with notice.
Compensation & Benefits
This position is paid gross with overtime. This position is $30+ hour, PTO, including paid federal holidays. There are two weeks of vacation and a discretionary performance bonus.
Start Date: This is a long-term role. The position begins as soon as the family finds the right fit.
COVID-19 Risk Tolerance: The family is very strict about COVID. Their newborn is too young for vaccination, and their daughter has only recently been eligible for it.
Position Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Safety first
Pitch-in attitude regarding general maintenance and cleanliness of the children
Follows parents’ approach to childcare and embraces family parenting style
Solids and bottle feedings, diaper changes, children’s laundry, keeping track of children's items to ensure they stay stocked, planning engaging and age-appropriate activities, and eventually potty training!
Manage daily care and supervision of both of their children
Adhere to the children’s schedule, including naps/sleep, bath, and activities
Facilitate intellectual development (e.g., words, numbers, enrichment, etc.)
Facilitate physical development (e.g. running, stacking, using utensils, etc.) in a high-energy, creative, and playful way.
Facilitate social development, helping to make connections with friends and attending playdates and classes
Manage all aspects of children’s property with utmost cleanliness and organization, including meals/snacks and clean-up, hanging clothes, cleaning toys/books, diaper bags, etc.
Ability to make very simple meals for both of their children.
Laundry for the children.
Qualifications:
US Work Authorization
Minimum of 4 years of professional full-time or part-time childcare experience
Infant experience
Toddler experience
Foreign Language is a huge plus
Associate Degree or Higher
Basic Tech Savvy
Driver’s License
Up to date on all vaccinations
Covid vaccinated and boosted
CPR and First-Aid certifications
