Developmentally focused Nanny With Infant Experience Needed For Upper West Side Family

Loving first-time parents on the Upper West Side are looking for an experienced, tech-savvy Nanny for their newborn daughter, who will be 4.5 months at the start of the job. Currently, they have an NCS and are hoping the NCS and nanny can work alongside each other before she leaves the second week of February.


This position is ideal for someone with recent experience working with infants and toddlers. Someone passionate about nurturing the growth and development of the infants and the children in their care. (E.g., actively looking for ways to enhance child development.) The nanny must be self-sufficient and able to create a safe, fun learning environment for the child. Although both parents work, they would love to be involved in their daughter's daily life. So the nanny must be able to communicate ideas and plans with the working parents.


Start Date (Contact date): February 13th start.


Schedule: Monday - Thursday,  7 am - 7 pm, (4 days, 48-hours a week.)


Live-out/in: Live out.


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hourly pay is $30-$35, which is an annualized base compensation of 80k - 94k (Higher compensation is in accordance with experience.)

  • PTO, including paid federal holidays. There are two weeks of vacation and a discretionary performance bonus.

Covid Risk Tolerance:

  • The family is open about Covid but asks that the applicant is up to date on vaccinations.

Position Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Safety first.

  • Pitch-in attitude regarding general maintenance and cleanliness of the infant

  • Comfortable educating (first-time parents) on things such as scheduling, sleep, food (introducing solids), discipline, potty training, etc. – but also respectful of and ability to adhere to our parenting decisions.

  • Ability to handle mother’s milk or prepare formula and sterilize bottles

  • Adhere to the infant's schedule, including naps/sleep, bath, and activities

  • Ability to change diapers and eventually potty train.

  • To ensure they stay stocked, keep track of children’s items (e.g., diapers, wipes, milk, etc.).

  • Engaged in facilitating intellectual development (e.g., words, numbers, enrichment, reading, flashcards, games and active play, etc.)

  • Will find activities in the neighborhood to suggest, for example, classes or playgroups.

  • Outgoing and friendly (i.e., will make friends with other nannies, arrange playdates, etc.)

  • Light housekeeping (e,g, emptying and loading dishwasher, cleaning up after children, doing children’s laundry.)

Qualifications:

  • US, Work Authorization

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional Nanny experience

  • Minimum of 3 amazing references

  • Newborn experience

  • Up to date on all vaccinations

  • Covid vaccination and boosted

  • CPR and First-Aid certifications
