Loving Spanish-Speaking Nanny Needed for Family in Brooklyn Heights

A loving family in Brooklyn Heights seeks a caring, qualified nanny for their three children, ages 6.5 years, 5 years and 2 years. The ideal candidate for this position is someone with experience working with multiple children. In addition, the nanny must be able to provide the children with a fun and stimulating environment. The nanny must be dependable, compassionate, proactive, and capable of independently resolving problems. Must be able to assist the two oldest children with their homework. The youngest speaks Spanish, so would be able to maintain that language immersion, as well as speak Spanish to the newborn. Must be able to partner closely with the parents to help manage the household. A basic understanding of technology is required. Additionally, there will be another full-time nanny to help with the babies. The nanny must be comfortable managing and collaborating closely with another caregiver while the babies are young. This role is long-term and the family hopes to work with this person for 10+ years.

This position is flexible. Live-in when family is in Bedford during the summer and live-out in Brooklyn
For live-in, the schedule is 6 days per week, from 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM. (50 hrs. a week.) during the week Monday - Friday and 5 hours on Saturday for a total of 55 hours per week. The family will be residing in Bedford New York, during the summer.

For live-out, the schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM. (50 hrs. a week.) and 5 hours on Saturday for a total of 55 hours per week. The family will be residing in Brooklyn for the rest of the year.
Additional hours may be required with notice. Overnights if both parents are traveling may occasionally pop up during the year. And travel may also occur as additional hours. So, an ideal candidate who is flexible. Also, the candidate can choose living in instead of live out.

Compensation & Benefits:
This position is paid gross with overtime. This position is $90-$120k/year (DOE) if it’s live-out during the year, with PTO (e.g, paid federal holidays, two weeks of vacation, and sick days.)
A discretionary performance bonus.

The family are open about Covid.

Start Date: Begins on 08/15/2023. This is a long-term role.

Position Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Safety first.
Pitch-in attitude regarding general maintenance and cleanliness of the children
Follows parents’ approach to childcare and embraces family parenting style.
Manage daily care and supervision of the children.
Adhere to the children’s schedule (e.g., School drop-off and pick-ups, and any plan playdates and after-school activities.)
Facilitate intellectual development (e.g., words, numbers, stories, puzzles, overlooking any schoolwork, etc.)
Facilitate social development, helping to make connections with friends and attending playdates and classes
Ability to plan fun activities, keeping the children active and engaged.
Ability to make simple meals for the children.
Laundry for the children.
General support around the household - organizing kids things, occasional grocery shopping, dishwasher
Manage all aspects of the children’s property with utmost cleanliness and organization, including meals/snacks and clean-up, hanging clothes after laundry, cleaning toys/books, diaper bags, etc.

Qualifications:
US, Work Authorization
Minimum of 10 years of professional Nanny experience
Foreign Language: Spanish
Must know how to swim
Must know how to drive
Basic Tech Savvy
Covid vaccination and boosted
CPR and First-Aid certifications
