A nurturing family in San Francisco, CA is searching for an educated nanny for their 9-month-old son. They are looking for a candidate experienced in infant care and well-versed in the Rudolf Steiner and Waldorf philosophies. This includes understanding the philosophies' emphasis on holistic child development, integrating intellectual, practical, and artistic skills to nurture a child's physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

The ideal candidate should be adept at incorporating artistic activities like music, painting, storytelling, and while engaging multiple senses and foster creativity. They should value the importance of connecting their son with the natural world and the benefit that a balance of nature, art, song and movement brings. Additionally, appreciating the significance of rhythm, routine, and predictability in a child's daily life is essential, as these elements contribute to stability and developmental support.

Beyond philosophical knowledge, the nanny should also possess traits of organization, punctuality, proactivity, self-motivation, and the ability to independently troubleshoot issues. A valid driver's license is required for this role.


This position is a flexible, part-time live-out:
The schedule is Monday through Friday 4-5 hours per day. Schedule can be flexible for the right candidate.
Additional hours may be required with notice. So, an ideal candidate who is flexible.

Compensation & Benefits:
This position is paid gross with overtime. This position is $35-$50 per hour, PTO (e.g, paid federal holidays, two weeks of vacation, and sick days.)
A discretionary performance bonus.

Covid Risk Tolerance:
The ideal candidate would be vaccinated and would take reasonable steps to help prevent spreading germs (wear a mask if she has the sniffles/cough).

Start Date: Begins on 01/10/2024. This is a long-term role.

Position Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Safety first.
Pitch-in attitude regarding general maintenance and cleanliness of their son
Follows parents’ approach to childcare and embraces family parenting style
Able to utilize their knowledge of Rudolf Steiner and Waldorf philosophies
Manage daily care and supervision of their son
Adhere to their son’s schedule (e.g., feeding, playtime and nap schedule)
Facilitate intellectual development (e.g., engage multiple senses and encourage creativity like artistic activities, such as music, painting, storytelling, and handcrafts, etc.)
Facilitate social development, helping to make connections with friends and attending playdates and classes
Ability to plan fun activities, keeping their son active and engaged
Ability to bottle feed, and feed baby solid whether it’s puree or baby-led weaning. Laundry for their son.
Manage all aspects of their son’s property with utmost cleanliness and organization, including meals/snacks and clean-up, hanging clothes after laundry, cleaning toys/books, diaper bags, etc.

Qualifications:
US, Work Authorization
Minimum of 4 years of professional nanny experience
Infant and toddler experience
Early Childhood Development Background
Waldorf Education Method
Driver’s License
Up to date on all vaccinations, (Tdap, flu, and COVID 19 & Booster)
CPR and First-Aid certifications
