Engaging Nanny Needed in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, NY

A family in Brooklyn, NY is looking for a nurturing, energetic nanny for their two children 4yo and 14 mo. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who has experience working with multiple children. The majority of the day is with the youngest, but the nanny should be able to navigate developmentally focused activities with both age groups. The older child in particular loves to read, and the younger one is very playful and active. Their ideal nanny is able to create an engaging, loving, and stimulating atmosphere for the children. Such as facilitating fun and safe activities, taking the children on adventures, coordinating family calendar, keeping their things organized, and more.

The nanny must be responsible, punctual, communicative, organized, proactive, a self-starter, and know how to troubleshoot issues independently. Communication with the parents is important. Lastly, both parents occasionally work from home. The nanny must be comfortable working in close partnership with both parents on occasional days when they are at home. Must also be comfortable coordinating with grandparents who come to spend afternoons with the children frequently.

This position is full-time, live-out:
The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am – 6:30 pm, with the flexibility to arrive slightly early or stay late (up to 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm on some nights) (~50-52 hrs. a week).
Additional hours may be required with notice.
Occasionally you may travel with the family.

Compensation & Benefits:
This position is paid gross with overtime. This position is $30-35 per hour, PTO (e.g, paid federal holidays, at least two weeks of vacation, and sick days.)
A discretionary performance bonus.
Public Transportation Pass

Covid Risk Tolerance:
The family is not overly concerned about Covid but requires Covid and other standard vaccinations (flu etc.)

Start Date: Begins asap and as soon as the family finds the right fit. This is a long-term role.

Position Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Safety first.
Pitch-in attitude regarding general maintenance and cleanliness of their children
Follows parents’ approach to childcare and embraces family parenting style
Manage daily care and supervision of the children
Adhere to their children’s schedule (e.g., School drop-off and pick-ups, and any plan playdates and after-school activities.)
Facilitate intellectual development (e.g., words, numbers, stories, puzzles, overlooking any schoolwork, etc.)
Facilitate social development, helping to make connections with friends and attending playdates and classes
Ability to plan fun activities, keeping their children active and engaged
Ability to make very simple and healthy meals for their children.
Laundry for the children.
Manage all aspects of their child’s property with utmost cleanliness and organization, including meals/snacks and clean-up, hanging clothes after laundry, cleaning toys/books, diaper bags, unloading dishwasher etc.

Qualifications:
US, Work Authorization
Minimum of 5 years of professional Nanny experience
Experience with toddlers and school age children
Basic Tech Savvy
Passport a plus
CPR and First-Aid certifications
