Flexible Nanny Needed for Newborn in the West Village

A warm and welcoming family in Manhattan, NY, is seeking a team player nanny for their newborn, arriving in April. The perfect candidate will have newborn experience and be capable of creating a safe and engaging environment for the baby (e.g., reading, playing, planning activities, managing the family calendar, organizing their belongings, and more).

The nanny should be professional, imaginative, proactive, self-motivated, and able to problem-solve independently. They should also be comfortable working with a busy yet hands-on family and be willing to travel with them.

This position has a rotational structure, combining both Live-in and Live-out arrangements:

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (50+ hrs. per week). Additional hours may be needed with notice, so flexibility is essential.
During the summer, the family travels to their farm in Hobart, NY, and the nanny is expected to join them. A separate room and bathroom will be provided.
When the family is in the city, the position is live-out.
When the family is at their farm, the position is live-in, with the option to return to their own residence on days off (e.g., leaving Friday evenings and returning Monday mornings).
Pets:
The family has three very friendly cats.

Compensation & Benefits:

This position is paid gross with overtime and offers $30-$45 per hour.
PTO includes paid federal holidays, two weeks of vacation, and sick days.
Discretionary performance bonus.
Private bedroom and bathroom provided when traveling.
Insurance reimbursement/stipend.
Public transportation pass.

The family is open-minded about Covid.

Start Date: The position begins on 04/20/2023 and is a long-term role.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Prioritizing safety.
Adopting a pitch-in attitude for the newborn's general maintenance and cleanliness.
Following parents' childcare approach and parenting style.
Providing daily care and supervision for the newborn.
Adhering to the newborn's schedule (e.g., school drop-offs and pick-ups, playdates, and after-school activities).
Encouraging intellectual development (e.g., words, numbers, stories, puzzles, supervising schoolwork, etc.).
Supporting social development by assisting with friend connections, playdates, and classes.
Planning enjoyable activities to keep the newborn active and engaged.
Preparing simple meals for the newborn.
Doing the newborn's laundry.
Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the newborn's belongings, including meals/snacks, laundry, toys/books, diaper bags, etc.
Qualifications:

US work authorization.
A minimum of 5 years of professional nanny experience.
Newborn experience.
Associate's degree or higher.
Driver's license.
Basic tech-savvy.
Swimming ability.
Up-to-date on all vaccinations.
Covid vaccinated and boosted.
CPR and First-Aid certifications.
