Nanny Needed for Family in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn

A loving family in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, NY, is looking for a kind, experienced, loving nanny for their newborn and 6-year-old child. Their oldest is mainly in school, so the focus is primarily on the newborn. The nanny must be able to assist in after-school pick-up and activities for the 6-year-old. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-orientated, easygoing, positive, flexible, respectful, and professional. Their candidate has lots of experience working with infants and can bring their knowledge to the table. The ability to be creative and create an engaging, proactive, and calm atmosphere will help me excel in this role.

This position is full-time, live-out only:
The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm (50 hrs. a week).
Over the summer, the family goes to Westchester, NY, for a couple of weeks and requires the nanny to come. Nanny must be comfortable traveling with the family,
Additional hours may be required with notice. So, an ideal candidate who is flexible.

Compensation & Benefits:
This position is paid gross with overtime. This position is $30-$33 per hour (comp is adjusted for hours with both children), PTO (e.g, paid federal holidays, two weeks of vacation, and sick days.)
A discretionary performance bonus.
Public transportation pass

Start Date: Begins asap. This is a long-term role.

Position Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Safety first.
Pitch-in attitude regarding general maintenance and cleanliness of the newborn
Follows parents’ approach to childcare and embraces family parenting style
Manage daily care and supervision of the newborn
Adhere to the newborn’s schedule (e.g., School drop-off and pick-ups, and any plan playdates and after-school activities.)
Facilitate intellectual development (e.g. Tummy time, reading, talking, playing with newborn. For their 6 year old, language, math, stories, puzzles, overlooking any schoolwork, etc.)
Facilitate social development, helping to make connections with friends and attending playdates and classes
Ability to plan fun activities, keeping the newborn active and engage
Ability to make meals for both children.
Laundry for the children.
Manage all aspects of the children’s property with utmost cleanliness and organization, including meals/snacks and clean-up, hanging clothes after laundry, cleaning toys/books, etc.

Qualifications:
US, Work Authorization
Minimum of 5 years of professional Nanny experience
Newborn and school-age children experience
Up to date on all vaccinations
Covid vaccination and boosted
CPR and First-Aid certifications
Willingness to travel.
