
Nanny Needed for Family in Sherman Oaks, CA

A private family in Sherman Oaks, CA is looking for an empathetic, patient nanny for their 11-year-old son. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who has experience working with special needs children, being both autistic and has ADHD. Someone that will use the parent’s preferred upbringing/care method for their son. In addition, the nanny must have the ability to create a loving, blissful, and stimulating environment that is safe for their son. This will require interactions through facilitating fun and safe activities, coordinating family calendar, keeping his things organized, and more. Note, the child has epilepsy and will require medication and supervision.
The nanny must be positive, responsible, proactive, a self-starter, and know how to troubleshoot issues independently. Being tech savvy is needed. Having a clean driving record is required. The parents would prefer a candidate that not only respect their inputs, but also won’t create any circumstances that will make their son anxious. Lastly, both parents have flexible schedules to work from home. The nanny must be comfortable working in close partnership with both parents.
This position is flexible. The position is live-out only:
The schedule is Monday through Friday, which may include some weekends.
It’s split from 6:00 AM - 9:00 AM, then from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM (35 hrs. a week.) Additional hours may be required with notice. So, an ideal candidate who is flexible.
Pet Care:
The family has a dog, a 4-year-old Golden Doodle. Care is only needed if the parents aren’t home, or if their dog wants something.
Compensation & Benefits:
This position is paid gross with overtime. This position is $35-$40 per hour, PTO (e.g, paid federal holidays, two weeks of vacation, and sick days.)

Start Date: Begins on 07/15/2023. This is a long-term role.
Position Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Safety first.
Pitch-in attitude regarding general maintenance and cleanliness of their son
Follows parents’ approach to childcare and embraces family parenting style.
Manage daily care and supervision of their son.
Adhere to their son’s schedule (e.g., School drop-off and pick-ups, and any plan playdates and after-school activities.)
Facilitate intellectual development (e.g., words, numbers, stories, puzzles, overlooking any schoolwork, etc.)
Facilitate social development, helping to make connections with friends and attending playdates and classes.
Ability to plan fun activities, keeping their son active and engage.
Ability to make very simple meals for their son.
Laundry for their son.
Manage all aspects of their son’s property with utmost cleanliness and organization, including meals/snacks and clean-up, hanging clothes after laundry, cleaning toys/books, diaper bags, etc.
