Schedule:
• Weeks 1 and 2: 7 nights/week
• Weeks 3, 4, 5, and 6: 5 nights/week
• Weeks 7, 8, 9, 10: 4 nights/week
• Option to extend to weeks 11 and 12 (if necessary): 4 nights/week

Family Overview
A caring and attentive family in Battery Park City, Manhattan, NY is seeking an experienced and nurturing Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) to support them during the first ten weeks postpartum. The ideal candidate brings extensive hands-on newborn experience and a deep understanding of infant sleep, feeding, and development during the newborn stage.
This role focuses on helping establish healthy routines, supporting recovery for parents, and ensuring the baby’s safety, comfort, and early development. The NCS should be calm, proactive, organized, and confident working independently while collaborating closely with parents. Experience with sleep shaping and parent education is highly valued.
Position Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
• Provide expert, attentive care for a newborn
• Support feeding routines (breastfeeding support and/or bottle feeding as directed)
• Assist with sleep shaping and establishing healthy newborn routines
• Track feeding, sleep, and diaper changes
• Soothe and comfort the baby using developmentally appropriate techniques
• Educate parents on newborn care best practices when appropriate
• Maintain a clean and safe sleep environment
• Prepare and clean bottles, pumps and feeding supplies
• Perform light housekeeping related to the baby (laundry, nursery organization, sanitizing baby items)
• Communicate clearly with parents regarding baby’s progress, routines, and needs
• Support parents during nighttime wakings
• Maintain a calm, nurturing, and hygienic environment at all times
Qualifications
• Minimum of 1 years professional newborn or infant care experience (NCS experience preferred)
• Extensive hands-on experience with newborns (0–3+ months)
• Newborn Care Specialist certification preferred
• Strong understanding of newborn sleep, feeding, and development
• CPR & First Aid certification (infant-specific required)
• Up-to-date vaccinations (Tdap, Flu, COVID-19, Booster)
• Reliable, punctual, and professional
• Excellent communication skills
