Live-in/out Amazing Learning Manager/Nanny Needed for School-age Children

A loving family is seeking a wonderful live-in or out nanny for their children. The candidate will be joining a household with two engaged parents, a 8 yo, 10 yo and a terrific housekeeper. She will have responsibility to provide for the general and basic needs of the girls while providing supervision to ensure their safety, growing independence and self-responsibility. 2 cats, and 1 dog. Caregivers will need to be comfortable with animals and not be responsible for them.

The ideal candidate is energetic, artistic/creative, kind, warm, confident and experienced with this age group. She/he should be proficient with a range of technology, strong reader and writer, and able to manage difficult situations. Proficiency in French language and /or specialized reading is a huge plus.

She/he should also have strong organizational and communication skills. It does not include cleaning (the family has a full time housekeeper) but will require taking care of the girls' items and helping to keep their room and work spaces tidy and organized. Family is covid conscious and would expect the same from the candidate.

Specific roles include developing and managing the daily schedule, providing guidance and help in daily tasks (getting dressed, personal hygiene, chores! managing school materials - homework, library), and modeling and reinforcing self-responsibility and care. This candidate will be the lead driver to school and after school activities.

This position is: Full-time, Live-in, or out

The schedule is Tuesday through Friday, 11:00 AM  7:00 PM (as needed in the evening) Saturday (TBD)

Compensation & Benefits

  • This position is $30-$35+ hour, and PTO and Paid federal holidays and a discretionary performance bonus. All positions are paid gross with overtime.

Start Date: The position will begin 12/01/2021.

Position Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Job responsibilities and tasks include:

  • Provide for the general and basic needs of children while providing supervision to ensure safety.

  • Support online and virtual education, including facilitating participation and submitting work/homework.

  • Manage related services, practice and activities which currently include speech and occupational therapy, online art and music classes.

  • Facilitate  play and age-appropriate activities - arts and craft  and science projects,  schoolwork, playdates, free and creative play

  • Transport girls too and from school and  afterschool activities (ice skating, horseback riding)

  • Provide guidance and instruction for safe behavior, responsibility and self care (ie. how to cross streets, wear masks, dress weather appropriate, help manage school materials, prepare/clean up meals)

  • Manage weekly household calendar, and assisting with scheduling and service visits as needed

  • Assist with children’s meal planning and food prep, especially lunch and snacks.

  • Assist with regular household organization.

  • Help with pet care and feeding  (new puppy and two cats)

  • Ability to travel (if and when possible!)


US, Work Authorization

At least 3 years of professional, full-time childcare experience

Someone with a background and interest in developmental psychology and/or pediatric psychiatry is a huge Plus.

Valid driver’s license and passport

Comfortable cooking for children

CPR and First-Aid certifications

Must be able to swim

Desire to commit long-term

Engaging and active with a true passion for caring for children

Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to start date in accordance with applicable laws
